True Story!
It started with an old tattered aluminum cup that belonged to grandpa. Grandpa has now passed but his aluminum cup found a place in my cupboard and crazy as it sounds every one of my children fight over who gets the cup to drink from. “Why do you guys fight over this cup every day?” Todd, the founder of Hi-2-O asked and it was the response that started it all.
“The water is so much colder in this cup daddy and it tastes way better!”
Every time the cup is filled with cold water it sweats and this makes the cold water that much more refreshing. Whether it is science or because every cold beverage commercial has the sweat on the container making it look that much better, there are other facts about the aluminum that makes this package choice the right choice.
Because aluminum is 100% recyclable 100% of the time, using it to package our precious drinking water makes us more ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE.
Hi-2-O founder, Todd, has spent his entire career learning and developing his skills in the food and beverage industry. Working as a Millwright repairing and building machinery in the food and beverage industry has given great insight into the business. Most recently, spending the last 10 years in the steel business as an Engineer Technologist with his partner Moe, has given that much more insight into the business.
We at Hi-2-O want to CREATE JOBS, CREATE AWARENESS and build a SUSTAINABLE FACILITY with the environment and local communities in mind as we rid the world of plastic water bottles. We want to continue to provide the convenience of drinking water wherever and whenever but we want to do it with the environment in mind, with you in mind, with your children in mind, with your children’s children in mind and so on and so on. We want to provide the SAME GREAT WATER, SAME GREAT TASTE WITHOUT THE PLASTIC WASTE!

The packaging is the issue that we so desperately need to change. Hi-2-O is packaged in a 100% Recyclable aluminum can that protects the water from harmful light and protects our environment from harmful plastics!
Sustainability
It is so simple, we do it every day so it makes sense because it is not something we have to learn. We already put our used cans in the recycle bin, and that empty can is 100% recyclable. The empty aluminum can will go to a recycle plant and will be recycled back into a beverage can and back on the shelf for re-sale within 60 days from when the can was put in the recycle bin.
There have been several news articles, television documentaries, protests and conversations about the need to eliminate the use plastic water bottles. Our plan is to generate enough funds to not only put our drinking water in a 100% recyclable, 100% responsible packaging but to build a canning plant where Hi-2-O can be created at its own facility creating jobs and building on sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Not only will we be protective of the water source, but everything we make is and will be designed to be recycled and positive for the environment and our communities with minimal impact.
The Innovation
The journey has been both long and educational. The owner started from the ground up with regards to innovation.
From a mechanical apprentice working with jet engines in the oil and gas industry to achieving government certification as an Industrial Millwright while working in the food and beverage industry. 10 years of fixing, repairing, building and learning about the beverage canning and filling industry. Then returning to school and achieving a Mechanical Engineering Technology degree and ultimately achieving certification with OACETT (Ontario Association of Certified Engineers, Technicians and Technologists).
We at Hi-2-O have the experience and a great desire to do our part to save the planet. This includes Building a state-of-the-art production plant that utilizes green energy as its major power source that is capable of Putting back into the grid that which is not used.
